Prototype for rearing shrimp in biofloc was validated at FURG and UFSC. It was used two tanks, on of 3500L tanks (square at FURG) and one of 4000L (circular at UFSC), stocked with 400 shrimp/m3 (initial weight of 1g). Tanks were equipped with artificial substrates and aeration system (Airtubes connected to a blower with a flow rate of 33.75L/min), according with previous CS5 task one studies. Also, an inoculum of 10% from a mature tank was used and C:N ratio was 8.9:1. Prototype proved to be functional, with good shrimp growth performanc
