The paper examines the effect of early marriage through review of the literature. Early child marriage is a barbaric act, man’s inhumanity to man, is a common practice in most developing countries. Every minute a child is married off against her will, education attainment terminated and dreams aborted by this reoccurring act. This has called for a clarion call and a serious concern to the international community at large. The research seeks to look inwardly into variables that invigorate the common practice, how it affects on the society and the way forward.
