In 2015, 1,268 primary care providers responded to a questionnaire regarding their opinions on evidence-based recommendations for women’s preventive healthcare by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), the American Cancer Society (ACS), and the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF). These primary providers represented Gynecologists (34%), Family Practitioners (25.1%), Internal Medicine Physicians (23.3%), Nurse Practitioners (25.4%) and Physician Assistants (28.0%). All were actively engaged in the delivery of preventive healthcare to women and were randomly chosen from a 163,696 square mile region in the United States.
