Challenges and Perspectives of the Philosophy of Mathematics Education

Historically the term Philosophy of Mathematics Education is associated with the philosophy of mathematics, taking up some concepts of philosophy of education. However, mathematics and mathematics education have their own foundations. Thus, as achieved from different research display, which is stronger, own research bases in the philosophy of mathematics, in philosophy of mathematics education. In order to give foundation to this research in philosophy in mathematics education, we have sought to recent research on the subject without getting a proper development of this perspective because, advances found are based on the philosophy of mathematics education, being this it has been shown as progress in mathematics education
