Restructuring processes in trade business of Ukraine

The subject of the study is the deployment of restructuring processes in the trade business of Ukraine. The purpose of the research is to determine the promising directions of business development of trade networks in Ukraine. Research methods. The work uses the dialectical method of scientific knowledge, the method of analysis and synthesis, the comparative method, and the method of summarizing data. Work results. The paper outlines the changes that have taken place in Ukraine in the development of the material and technical base of trade. The trends of restructuring processes in the trade business of Ukraine are determined. One of the directions of development of the domestic trade business is considered. New tasks for managers and controllers of trade networks, posed by business diversification, are defined. A number of negative factors affecting the functioning of trade networks in economically underdeveloped regions are given. Conclusions. In the trade business of Ukraine, the processes of creating large–scale in terms of size and territory of service trade networks are being activated. The regional distribution of trade facilities makes it difficult for owners and managers to control their business activities. Controlling promotes effective control over retail chain divisions, and business diversification poses new challenges for managers and controllers. Large domestic and foreign chains combine purely trade service in stores of various formats (hypermarkets, supermarkets, discounters, and others) with the provision of various services, production of goods under their own trademarks. Taking into account the above, it is possible to propose the following directions of operation of professional associations of network trade business entities – development of methodological bases for the implementation and functioning of controlling, formation of proposals for improving the controlling tools in small regional networks, which will give them additional competitive advantages.
