The article gives a definition and basic signs of sabotage as a socio-political phenomenon, analyzes the possibilities of manifestation of sabotage in the electoral process of modern Ukraine. The electoral process is seen as part of the electoral cycle. The emphasis is on the possibility of using sabotage at the stage of preparation of the electoral process: when forming the geographical boundaries of electoral districts (gerrymandering), introducing "open" party lists in electoral systems with a proportional component (proportional and mixed systems), choosing the form of functioning and organizing the work of the election administration.
