Genre Features of Information Journalism

The article is devoted to understanding the information journalism genre features in the modern information space. The theoretical basis was the work of scientists O. Amzin, M. Bakhtin, O. Bykova, Z. Weishenberg, M. Vasylenko, O. Harachkovska, V. Zdoroveha, R. Kraih, I. Mykhailyn, H. Nazarenko, O. Tertychnyi, M. Tymoshyk, I. Tonkikh, S. Shebelista, and others. The selection of information journalism specific features was carried out according to the method implemented by prof. O. Harachkovska articles, on the pages of this publication. Emphasis is placed on the fact that the information genre group dominates the amount of material in modern journalism. Mass media text, not only carries information about society but also influences and transforms it. Information genres include a note, report, reportage, information correspondence, interviews, etc. Based on wide life facts, the genre features of the information genre group are analyzed. The study shows that with the help of information models, a structured system of semantic reality development and the course of human thinking is formed. The content of the modern information space is enriched, expanded, and refined. An information note as a concise operative message develops into other genre types. Understanding the system of information genres allows us to state that the list is not stable and exhaustive. There is a transformation of journalistic genres, their mass media «diffusion». Due to the phenomena of synergy and integration, digitization and multimedia, convergence, and cross media, new genre trends of modern journalism are being formed. The basic genre features of the information group remain unchanged: social significance and relevance of information, its factuality, objectivity, and reliability; structure, conciseness, and reduction of material; the curiosity of facts and the journalist’s ability to bring them closer to the user
