Peculiarities of the organization and carrying out of practical classes in mathematics for students of «Hotel and Restaurant Business» specialty

The existing models of organization and carrying out of practical classes in higher education establishment has analyzed in this article. It is proved that the choice of the most effective for the formation of mathematical knowledge and skills, professional qualities and the most acceptable for a particular contingent of students is one of the important tasks of teaching methods. The necessity of such a method of organizing and carrying out practical classes, which contributes to realization of mathematical knowledge in solving practical problems of economics, industry and social sphere, their integration into the plane of practical application has proved. This becomes possible due to the filling of practical classes with tasks of professional orientation and using of non-standard and situational tasks. Examples of tasks for students majoring in «Hotel and restaurant business» that simulate specific situations of future professional activity have given. Methodical approaches to the choice of organization forms and methods of the educational process in mathematics to provide students not only with mathematical knowledge, but also to reveal their creative and professional potential has been considering. This is possible on condition of a rational combination, reasonable and well-thought-out choice of one or another form depending on the content of the material, individual characteristics of students. The organization and conduction of a practical lesson based on the understanding that learning is not a means of acquiring knowledge, skills and abilities, but a means of developing individual qualities of the student through knowledge, skills and abilities, requires a change in goals and content. They should be such that awaken the cognitive activity of students, contribute to the independence thinking formation and working, the formation of professional competence. Further research will be aimed at expanding the possibilities of mathematical disciplines for the professional development of specific specialties students through the introduction into the educational process elements of mathematical modeling in economic, technological, social processes
