The chapter highlights the plight of black students with disabilities in South Africa who are disadvantaged by their race, disability, class, and gender in comparison to their non-disabled peers as well as white students with disabilities. The chapter commends Unisa’s Advocacy and Resource Centre for Students with Disabilities (ARCSWiD) for initiatives ranging from providing assistive devices to campus-wide advocacy and disability awareness- raising initiatives.
