CLINICAL EFFICACY OF INTERFERONS (VIFERON) IN THE TREATMENT OF INTRAUTERINE INFECTIONS OF FULL-TERM AND PREMATURE NEWBORN INFANTS

This article gives the comparative analysis of the results of clinical and laboratory studies performed on the basis of the National Center for Maternal and Child Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, based on the principles and methodology of evidence-based medicine, which confirmed the reliability of the clinical efficacy of the drug named Viferon (suppositories) in the treatment of intrauterine infections in full-term and premature newborns infants. Purpose of the study: evaluation the antiviral, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant effects of the drug in the conditions of prospective open randomized clinical and immunological studies. Materials and methods: 100 newborn infants were under observation, who received both outpatient and inpatient treatment in the neonatal pathology department. 60 of them received additional alfa-2b interferon in combination with E and C antioxidant-vitamins. Results: this article indicates that the use of the Viferon drug in combination with specific therapy in the treatment of intrauterine infection of viral etiology contributes to a statistically significant reduction in the duration of the main clinical symptoms and the entire disease as a whole and a decrease or halt in the growth of viral antigen titers
