Having little social media coverage, the issue of the separation of immigrant families in detention centers persists. The aim of this project is to generate a thorough analysis of the psychological effects children experience during their detention in immigration centers. The project also addresses the in human living conditions and abuse immigrants endure while in detention. The study reveals the various subsequent types of mental illnesses children develop after being detained, such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression. It also analyzes the Zero-tolerance immigration policy that makes children subject to forced separation from families and explains its psychological impact
