Factors Affecting The Girl's Education In Rural Areas

Rationale of the study: Education develops the mind and empowers the individual. It aims to make him useful and responsible member of the society and country. Education is an important step in a child’s overall development, all over the world. Education lays the foundation for a bright future yet when it comes to educating a girl, there is gender bias of humongous proportion. Research Design: The study examined the factors that affecting girls’ education in rural areas. Data was collected by investigator through self-developed semi-structured questionnaire designed on five Point Likert Scale. Improvement in the education and literacy skills of the girls are primarily based upon some factors. These factors affect the education of girls in schools and in enhancing their educational skills and abilities. Overview of findings: It was recommended that negative attitude towards female education should be discouraged through mass media. Early marriage culture should be banned. Secondary education should be free and a special programme of scholarships should ne launched for girls students. School buildings should be constructed on feasible and suitable places so that majority of the girls may be beneficial zed. One of the fundamental rights according to the Indian constitution is ‘Right to Education’. Universalisation of girl’s education caters to the needs of all boys and girls but girls have been especially targeted to increase their enrolment and retention
