Teaching is a noble profession. Teachers 'attitude towards teaching should be positive to enhance the students learning. The present study was conducted to inquire about the student teachers' competence and attitude of B.Ed. College teachers of W.B. towards teaching. Research about teachers' competencies and attitudes towards the profession of teaching among the pre-service and novice teachers was seen in this study, the relationship between pre-service teachers' level of competence and their attitudes towards the teaching profession was investigated.
