: The public sector is now concerned with a focus on achieving more with fewer resources. Resources are shrinking and increasing demand for better quality results. There is an increasing need to improve efficiency and accountability for results. It is a global trend using Results Based Management to improve public sector performance. The governments world over have been experiencing scarcity of resources. In an effort to make use of scarce resources to improve public sector, the Government of Zimbabwe introduced Results Based Management in 2005 championed by a consultant from Malaysia where the management tool has been successful.
