PERBANDINGAN STATUS GIZI DAN MASA PUBERTAS PADA ANAK PRA REMAJA USIA 10-12 TAHUN DI BENGKULU (THE COMPARISON OF NUTRITIONAL STATUS AND PUBERTY AMONG CHILDREN 10-12 YEARS OLD IN BENGKULU )

ABSTRACT: Pre-adolescent are a group children that has a fast and active growth period and need to have a good quality and quantity of nutritional intake. Nutritional intake is affected by socioeconomic and genetic factors. In the end, these factors also affected to nutritional status and puberty of the pre-adolescent students. This research was conducted in January 2019 at Elementary School IT IQRA’ 1 Bengkulu City and Elementary School 61 Margo Mulyo Village Bengkulu Tengah, which aims to determine the comparison of nutritional status and puberty among pre-adolescent children of 10-12 years old, compared between urban and rural areas. This is a descriptively survey research, each of school was sampled by using a purposive sampling technique. The result showed that 108 respondents identified that the Body Mass Index (BMI) with the normal and fat BMI category was more prevalent students in Elementary School IT IQRA’1 Kota Bengkulu. Whereas the thin BMI category is only found in Elementary School 61 Margo Mulyo Village Bengkulu Tengah Regency. There are differences in the development of puberty in students from both elementary schools. Students with signs of entering puberty were more commonly found in Elementary School IT IQRA’1 Bengkulu City compared to Elementary School 61 Margo Mulyo Village Bengkulu Tengah Regency
