Factors Influencing the Adoption Intention of Young Management Students to Invest in Cryptocurrency

For a technology that has been around for little over a decade, the crypto world has left quite an impression. With the Finance Bill passed in the Lok Sabha regarding the regulation of these digital currencies including cryptocurrency, it is important to assess the Level of Awareness and Adoption Intention among the young generation. This study focuses on the same, how aware the management students are about using, investing, and trading using cryptocurrency and what are the driving factors behind their intention to adopt using cryptocurrency. Technology Acceptance Model has been taken as reference behavioural model, in order to build a refined model using ‘Perceived Risk’, ‘Perceived Ease of Use’, ‘Perceived Use’ and ‘Adoption Intention’ as variables and primary data using a structured questionnaire has been collected from management students with a sample size of 121 respondents. Various statistical tools have been used for analysis. Among the existing investors of stock and shares, 70% are interested in investing in cryptocurrency. 60% of all the respondents are interested in using cryptocurrency and among them 83% are willing to adopt if issued and regulated by Central Bank. This study would be helpful and useful for policy makers, investors, management of B-Schools or Post Graduate schools to include trading especially using Cryptocurrency in their academic curriculum
