This presentation explains the method used to select bright z~2.2 Lyman-alpha emitters in J-PLUS data and show the preliminary results obtained when applying the selection on the J-PLUS EDR. The combination of J-PLUS wide survey volume and filter set configuration allows to look for z~2.2 bright Lyman-alpha emitters (LAEs) over an unprecedentedly wide area. Preliminary results on J-PLUS EDR show that, despite the relatively shallowness of the survey, it is possible to detect ~1/sq.deg bright LAE, thus allowing to constrain the bright-end of z~2.2 LAEs luminosity function over a wide cosmological volume. Residual contamination from quasars (both and z~2.2 and other redshifts) does not allow to either disentangle between relative contribution...
