There are different ideas in Bolivia associated to afrobolivian people. Among them, the most important one refers to their disappearance from Potosí because they couldn´t bear the cold climate and the extraordinary height of the puna area, or as result of a biological miscegenation processes (Crespo Rodas, 1977; Angola Maconde, 2010). In this work, framed within Cultural Studies, I try to address the historical constitution of the Afrodescendant political subject of Bolivia by beginning to answer how the idea of its disappearance began to take shape.
