A Study Of Right To Equity And Gender Justice With Reference To Economic Right Of Women As Recognized Under The Directive Principle Of State Policies

Abstract The present paper is an attempt to analyze the status of women economic empowerment in India using various indicators based on data from secondary sources. The study reveals that women of India are relatively disempowered and they enjoy somewhat lower status then that of men. Gender discrimination of economic right amounts to economic inequality or economic discrimination. Economic discrimination is a term that describes a form of discrimination .Economic discrimination is a term that describes a form of discrimination based on economic factors. These factors can include job availability, wages, the prices or availability of goods and services, and the amount of Capital investment funding available to minorities for business. The present paper is trying to find out the gender based inequalities prevail in the society and effectiveness of legal provisions which are given under the Directive Principles of State Policy Part IV-A of the Constitution of India
