PRÉSTAMOS DIRECTOS E INDIRECTOS DEL TURCO EN EL LÉXICO ESPAÑOL

The vocabulary of Spanish, like other languages, has not developed and spread to its full extent without the influence of other languages. This process was not without a collision with lexical borrowings from other languages. Of the non-Spanish elements found in the Spanish vocabulary, we will talk about borrowings from the Turkic languages and how they got into the Spanish language. It is evident that the relationship between the Eastern and Western world is based on deep historical roots. The Iberian Peninsula was not only influenced by Muslims of Arab origin, but was also attacked by the Turks. Although the Spanish army got rid of the Turkic influence in their land (at the end of the 18th century), it was impossible to erase the linguistic remains. Language contact occurs over a fairly long period that facilitates the transmission of words. This is the reason why in the Spanish lexicon there are loans of Turkic origin, although they are not too many
