Benzo-, salicyl and anthranilohydroxamic acids have been found to form complexes with rhodium (Ill) in which they occupy only four co-ordination positions. Benzohydroxamic acid complex of palla· dium (II) has been characterised. Metastable oxaldihydroxamic acid complex of palladium (II) has been prepared and its decomposition to crystalline glyoxalhydroxamato complex, at room tempera· ture in the presence of moisture and air. has been noted.
