PREVENTION OF BULLYING AMONG PUPILS JUNIOR CLASSES

This article deals with the burning problem of bullying as a variety of violence. Special attention is paid to bullying at school or outside school and consists in intimidating, persecuting and slighting pupils. The concept of bullying is formulated, its types and forms at schools are shown. Article's purpose: to consider the phenomenon of bullying among pupils of junior school age and to disclose the peculiarities of the work of the primary school teacher in preventing bullying in the children's team. Methodology. Theoretical analysis and generalization of psychological and pedagogical literature on the research problem are conducted. Scientific novelty. Generalized definition of bullying; the causes of bullying among pupils of junior school age and features of behavior of the aggressor, victims and observers are considered; the peculiarities of the work of the elementary school teacher in preventing bullying in the children's team are revealed. Conclusions. Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting problems. Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose. In order to be considered bullying, the behavior must be aggressive and include: an Imbalance of Power: kids who bully use their power – such as physical strength, access to embarrassing information, or popularity – to control or harm others. Power imbalances can change over time and in different situations, even if they involve the same people. The consequences of bullying can be severe in terms of young people’s mental wellbeing, attitudes towards school, educational attainment and even potential suicide risk. It is therefore vital to gain more information about those young people who are particularly at risk of bullying so that policy interventions can be based on good evidence and targeted at the right groups
