Department of Chemistry, Government College, Ajmer-305 00 I, Rajasthan, India E-mail : urvijagarg@gmail.com Manuscript received 14 December 2009, revised 13 July 2010, accepted 30 July 2010 The alcoholic extract of leaves, stem bark and gum from the Acacia senegal Is tested for their effectiveness to combat corrosion of copper in molar hydrochloric acid by the rnass loss method and thermometric method. It was found that the presence of the extracts reduce the corrosion rate of copper in acid solution. The inhibition efficiency increases as the extract concentration is increased. The adsorption of these natural products on the metal surface from the acid has been found to obey Langmuir adsorption Isotherm. The gum extract of Acacia senegal ...
