A part of the Sangam literature is “Patthuppattu”. This paper will highlight the biographical status of the featured artists as seen in “Patthuppattu”. Its core idea is to focus on how the problems were faced by the artists in their daily lives. Characterization is the livelihood of these artists (Koothar). Also, there are differences between them in terms of travel and exposure to art. These artists who did not get a stable life in one place went to many places to get rid of their family poverty and entertained the kings and rich men etc. to show off their skills and get rewards. Nomadic artists devoted their lives to art. Hence, this article explores the lives of artists who have such special characteristics through “Patthupattu”
