English title: The Bondage of the Press: On the Enforcement of the Capitalist Press and the Metamorphoses of Censorship in 19th Century Germany English abstract The centrepiece of this study is the analysis of Marx's early writings on the freedom of the press in 1842. Marx distinguishes between the external bondage of the press - i.e., censorship -, and the inner bondage defined as the submission of the freedom of the press under the economic freedom. On the basis of Marx's concept, I analyse on the one hand the metamorphoses of censorship in the second half of the long 19th century.
