AN OBSERVATIONAL STUDY ON DIASTOLIC FUNCTION IN POST MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION PATIENTS IN A TERTIARY CARE CENTRE IN KANCHEEPURAM DISTRICT

Background: Diastolic dysfunction may be the earliest marker which leads to progressive cardiac failure. Thus the importance of detecting diastolic dysfunction using tissue doppler echocardiography helps in preventing the progression of patients to symptomatic congestive cardiac failure Objectives: 1. To find the prevalence of diastolic dysfunction in post myocardial infarction patients 2.
