DISTURBING MYTHS ABOUT SEXUALITY AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES: A TRAINING EXPERIENCE

The school education can and should include the themes of sexuality and diversity, through practices based on building a more aware and just society. The theme “Sexuality and Disability” was requested as a training demand from a basic education network and generated a 3-hour online workshop. The meeting was structured in such a way as to contemplate a formative experience based on theoretical reflection and a practical approach (data collection) regarding the participants' perceptions about the sexuality of students with disabilities. For the characterization of the lived formative experience, we organized this essay initially with considerations about the possibilities of deconstructing myths based on Nietzsche's philosophy and then we bring a critical perception about sexuality and people with disabilities, based on Foucalt and Butler. The methodological design and data collection have a quantitative and qualitative approach and the analysis is based on Bardin's principles. Two categories were generated, which were problematized in the results and discussion. We conclude that it is necessary to include the issue of sexuality of people with disabilities in teacher training in order to support the debate on the subject, dispelling myths that characterize the disability of these people
