There is an opinion among Tamil scholars that religions have been enriched by Tamil and Tamil by religions. The role of Christians is very important in the history of Tamil literature. From the sixteenth century till today, many Christian literatures, grammars and dictionaries have appeared in Tamil. The glory of creating Christian literature belongs to the priests of the Western countries and the Tamil scholars.
