This issue of the WATERLAT-GOBACIT Network Working Papers is a product of the Network’s Thematic Area 2, Water and Megaprojects (TA2). TA2’s membership includes academics, students, practitioners, representatives of social movements and civil society organizations, among others. It has a wide remit, as it covers broad areas related to the social and environmental impacts of water-related infrastructures and operations, as well as extractivist activities, including mining and agribusinesses, among other. TA2 members work on the effects of large-scale water infrastructures, such as dams, river diversions, hydroways, etc., but they also look at the impacts of smaller infrastructures, such as small hydropower plants.
