The research of the basic methods and approaches to the process of evaluating the innovative potential of industrial enterprises

The subject of the research is the theoretical and methodological foundations of the study of the main methods and approaches applicable to the process of assessing the innovative potential of industrial enterprises. When writing the article, general scientific and special methods were used to study the main methods and approaches in the process of assessing the innovative potential of industrial enterprises. Results of the investigation. In the course of writing the article, it was found that the modern innovative activity of industrial enterprises at this stage of development of the Ukrainian economy is quite changeable, which is due to vague ideas about the state of their innovative potential, key elements of innovative development, the influence of factors on the level of formation and use of innovative potential, basic methods and approaches to the process of assessing their own innovative potential. It has been proved that the effective development of innovative processes at enterprises, as well as the introduction of innovative strategies and concepts of enterprise activity, becomes impossible or too difficult, which requires further research on the main methods and approaches to the process of assessing the innovative potential of industrial enterprises, as the basis for their innovative development. It has been established that at present there is no single general unified approach to the interpretation of the concept of "innovative potential", all the more there is no universal methodology that would combine all the elemental components of the innovative activity of modern enterprises, since these elements are determined by the specifics of the enterprise, the desire to achieve the set goals and the vector its movement in the strategic plane. Scope of the results. Economy, industrial economics, light industry, enterprise management, enterprise innovative activity, enterprise innovative potential, enterprise competitiveness, innovative management. Conclusions. Having studied the main methodological provisions of a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of innovative activities, it was found that the proposed integral assessment of the indicator of the level of development of the innovative potential of industrial enterprises, using the resource, financial, personnel, managerial, market and scientific and technological components, is appropriate and relevant, since it is it that allows you to see weaknesses of enterprises in terms of their innovation potential and dynamics of its growth. It was also determined that the index of innovative development provides an opportunity for managers and stakeholders to use the results of assessing innovative development for further calculating the innovative potential of the enterprise as a whole. It has been proved that the index of innovative development can be calculated both separately for each enterprise and for integrated business structures, since it makes it possible to choose the further direction of the enterprise’s innovative activity, the possibility of introducing corrective measures to improve the existing situation and bring the enterprise to the desired innovative vector of development
