Aerobic exercise is an exercise that uses large muscle groups to contract at a light to moderate intensity for long periods. Moderate-intensity aerobic exercise is more effective at managing blood pressure compared to heavy and light-intensity aerobics. Regular exercise can lead to decreased autonomic nervous system activity and decreased systemic vascular resistance, which is most likely involved in the exercise-induced reduction in blood pressure.
