The Cognitive Stage Problem of Tolerance Formation in Preschool Children

In the article the need for the development of tolerance in preschool children, the formation of skills of benevolent human behavior during relationships with representatives of different cultures, different nationalities, and different ethnic origins is revealed. Attention is underlined on one of the most important stages of tolerance formation in preschoolers – the cognitive stage, when a child receives the necessary information about the diversity of the surrounding world, about himself, about the development of mental functions, cognitive abilities, about people around him, about interpersonal relationships within the framework of tolerance/intolerance formation. Special attention is paid to the systematic work of developing tolerance, increasing the level of self-awareness and manifestations of tolerance, primarily in adults: educators, kindergarten specialists, parents of pupils
