Probiotics are characterised as “live microorganisms'' and use of probiotics has shown promising effects on the prevention and treatment of different inflammatory skin disorders such as acne and atopic dermatitis. The Lactobacillus sp. were isolated using fermented rice water. Fermented rice water was serially diluted and plated on MRS Medium plates in which the bacterial isolates were observed to be round, flat, slightly mucoid, creamy in colour. The Lactobacilli was confirmed by Gram staining and the slide was observed to be gram positive rod shaped.
