As the world changes, so do the educational context. The BNCC establishes contemporary skills and abilities that all students must develop throughout primary school. Computational Reasoning (CR), a set of abilities based on scientific or operational computer science strategies, can help students develop these skills by encouraging student autonomy. These cognitive abilities, rather than technological resources, can be applied in everyday life, both inside and outside the school setting. However, CR abilities alone are insufficient to foster student protagonism because they necessitate active or contemporary methodologies.
