We developed a multiple-indicator approach to evaluate differences in soil N availability across sites and between larch monoculture and mixed stands paired at three sites (Daxinganling, Maoershan, and Qingyuan) in northeastern China. The selected indicators were foliar %N, soil C/N, soil inorganic N, foliar δ15N, and δ15N of bulk soil, ammonium, and nitrate in the soil profiles.Funding provided by: National Key Research and Development Program of ChinaCrossref Funder Registry ID: http://dx.doi.org/10.13039/501100012166Award Number: 2016YFA0600802Funding provided by: Key Research Program of Frontier Science, Chinese Academy of SciencesCrossref Funder Registry ID: http://dx.doi.org/10.13039/501100018527Award Number: QYZDB-SSW-DQC002Funding p...
