Eudendrium capillare Alder, 1856 (Figure 4D–E) Material examined 3 colonies, polyp, without gonophores; Caleritas Beach, La Paz Bay, Baja California Sur, 24.350̊N, 110.290°W; depth 0–1 m, 30 April 2017; on rock; ECO-CH-Z 11776. – 1 colony, polyp, with male gonophores; El Mogote Sand Bar, La Paz Bay, Baja California Sur, 24.159° N, 110.341°W; depth 0–2 m; 1 July 2019; on undetermined ascidian; ECO-CH-Z 11801. Identification (after Calder 1988; Marques 2001) Colonies erect; hydrocaulus monosiphonic, arising from a creeping hydrorhiza, irregularly branching. Hydrocladia irregularly branched. Pedicels bent, terminating at groove around base of hydranth – annulations at base of hydrocaulus, hydrocladia, and pedicels, and irregularly placed annulations elsewhere. Hydranth urn-shaped, distinct perisarc groove basally, filiform tentacles in one whorl, hypostome flared. Male gonophores distal to perisarc groove on hydranth. Each gonophore with three chambers, the terminal chamber with an apical tubercle. Distribution Recorded on the west coast of the Gulf of California in Baja California Sur (Mendoza-Becerril et al. 2020).
