The species has been reported from Argentina and Chile (Metcalf 1963c; Duffels & van der Laan 1985). The reference to Argentina in Metcalf (1963c) is a mistake. Buenos Aires is mentioned at the end of Brèthes (1920) but as the site of publication of the article and not the collection site of specimens of the new species.
