Start-Up Governance through Corporate Governance: A Study of the Scope of Corporate Governance in the Management of Indian Start-Ups

Abstract: Corporate Governance has been seen as an elixir for corporates. It has been observed that companies that follow corporate governance mandates have earned faith from stakeholders. Transparency in operations has led the business to the zenith. Many big corporates have made the mistake of not adhering to corporate governance. An example of Satyam is a milestone case study in the implementation of corporate governance. A very important key to the success of companies must be applied to younger business units and start-ups. But implementation cost is a major factor that businesses have always looked at. Whether to apply or not CSR in start-ups is a debatable issue. This paper is based upon a survey among the strategic managers, entrepreneurs, start-up owners, and strategic management and corporate governance faculties of prestigious institutes. We have conducted the research in 1 Union territory and 2 states of India. New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh (NOIDA, Gr. Noida, and Ghaziabad), and Gurugram (Haryana) have been considered sample locations.
