Abstract: This paper explores the existing literature on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) when it got transformed from philanthropic activity to mandatory CSR. This conceptual review of literature paper throws light on how various industries spend towards CSR activities. It is concluded from number of research papers that due to mandatory CSR in 2014, companies show more transparency in reporting and the CSR coverage is much wider than philanthropic CSR. This study would help future researchers in gaining valuable insights and assist in conducting future research in identifying needs of society ad improving CSR activities.
