Peromyscus guatemalensis tropicalis Goodwin, 1932, Chimoxan, about 40 mi (= 64 km) NE Coban, Alta Verapaz, 1500 ft (= 457 m), Guatemala. Peromyscus tropicalis is in the mexicanus species group. It was initially described as subspecies of P. guatemalensis, but it was later placed in synonomy with P. mexicanus saxatilis.
