Replication package for: Demand Shocks and Firm Investment: Micro-evidence from fiscal retrenchment in Italy⇤

Overview This document describes the replication archive (3_replication_package_EJ) for the above paper. The replication archive will be sufficient to generate all the figures and tables in the paper and the final data used in the analysis. Data The data used to replicate the analysis in the paper are in the folder ``4 confidential data not for publication/data’’. To replicate the results of the paper, move all the Stata files contained in this folder to the folder ``3_replication_package_EJ/data’’. Programs call the data in this specific sub-folder. Output This archive also provides (/output) the .tex files and the figures (.png) to generate the working paper and the online appendix. The file Tables_Figures_All.tex(.pdf) automatically imports tables and figures for quicker comparison with the paper. Software, OS, and Machine All the data and analysis have been last run in Stata 17, under Mac OS Big Sur, V. 11.4. The machine used is a Mac Pro (late 2019), 2.5Ghz 28-Core Intel Xeon W, 1.5TB Ram. Replication One main .do file (/do_files/!!!main.do!!!) runs all the codes to run the econometric analysis for the 31 tables and figures in the paper, and the codes to generate the data. The data analysis takes 10-15minutes, and the data generation takes approximately 3hrs
