Neoperla wuzhishana Chen & Du, sp. nov.

Neoperla wuzhishana Chen & Du, sp. nov. Figs. 5–11. Adult habitus. General color yellow patterned with brown. Head as wide as pronotum, with a brown stigma on anterior frons and a dark brown area between ocelli; compound eyes dark and antennae dark brown (Fig. 5). Pronotum disc pale brown with brown markings and dark brown margins (Fig. 5). Wing membrane subhyaline, veins brown; legs brownish. Cerci yellow (Figs. 10–11). Male (Figs. 5–8, 10). Forewing length 9.0– 9.5 mm, hindwing length 8.0– 8.5 mm. Tergum 7 process triangular, margined by sparse spines. Tergum 8 with mesal sensilla basiconica patch. Tergum 9 with mesal concave area bearing long hairs and with lateral sensilla basiconica patches on low swellings. Hemitergal processes with small spines on inner margins, most part covered by long hairs (Fig. 6). Aedeagal tube weakly sclerotized ventrally, with a pair of dorsolateral spinose projections. Aedeagal sac with spinules on most of the surface except for two lateral rows of sparse, moderate spines at mid-length and four large, stout spines on subapical ⅓ dorsally. The slender, finger-like, spinose apex of the sac slightly downcurved (Figs. 7–8). Female. Forewing length 11.0– 11.5 mm, hindwing length 9.0– 9.5 mm. General color and pattern similar to males (Fig. 11). Subgenital plate of tergum 8 reduced (Fig. 9). Type material. Holotype: male, China: Hainan Province, Mt. Wuzhishan, 18.4645 N, 109.3811 E, 17 May, 2012, Hai-Yan Wu, Ji-Rui Wang. Paratypes: 18 males and 6 females, same data as holotype (Insect Collection of Yangzhou University, China). Distribution. China (Hainan). Etymology. The species is named after the type locality, Wuzhishan. Diagnosis. The aedeagal tube of this species has a pair of dorsolateral spinose projections. The aedeagal sac is mostly spinose, and has two lateral rows of sparse, moderate spines at mid-length and four large spines on subapical ⅓ dorsally. In addition, the slender, finger-like, spinose apex of the sac is slightly downcurved. Remarks. The new species is a member of the N. montivaga group. Aedeagal tube and sac of the new species is similar to that of N. goguryeo Murányi & Li, 2015 and N. furcomaculata Kong & Li, 2014 (see figs. 21–23 in Murányi et al. 2015 and figs. 5–6 in Kong et al. 2014).
