Rhinacanthus nasutus (L) belongs to Acanthaceae family, widely distributed in some parts of sub-continent, in the region of Southeast Asia and China, and it is cultivated particularly as a medicinal plant which has been used in treatment and prevention of diverse diseases as folklore medicine. Different parts of R.nasutus are also used in traditional medicine for the treatment of eczema, pulmonary tuberculosis, herpes, hepatitis, diabetes, hypertension and skin diseases.
