Genus PTECTICUS Loew Ptecticus Loew, 1855: 142. Type species, Sargus testaceus Fabricius, 1805, by original designation. Correct original spelling by revision of Loew (1857: 263). [For nomenclatural history, see Woodley (2001: 208); no changes are proposed here.] Ptecticus lateritius Rondani. Comb. nov. Sargus lateritius Rondani, 1863: 76. ST? [MZUN]: Madagascar.
