This paper wants to understand how much the Latin Oedipus is original in respect of the sophoclean tragic hero. We look the place and the function of his noun, and the way by which he is designed, then his physic features which make him so exceptional. We are aware of how Latin tragedy is focused on the character’s inner conflict, of which passions are a powerful dramatic motor. These principal psychological features, that is fear and guilt, but also a great determination to understand the origin of his problems, draw the distinction of this protagonist right away overwhelmed by misfortune.Paré-Rey Pascale.
