Historical account of a sewage system. 1850-1904. (Georges Knaebel, p. 90-102) In the present text, we very briefly recall the historical account of Bielefeld (RFA) sewage system. Between 1850 and 1904, the year of the end of the most important work of the establishment of the system, we notice a total change in the pratices of cleaning up. We try to analyze which elements of the context can be put together : the city becomes industrialized, and the working population increases quickly in the suburb. The movement of goods becomes an important stake, road system is changing, it needs to be out of water. The old device of water supply is lapsing.
