The National Pact for Literacy at the Right Age (PNAIC) proposes to provide teachers from the 1st to the 3rd grades of Elementary School the required knowledge on schooling and literacy processes so that children, in Brazil, are properly schooled up to 8 years old. In this program, the teacher educator’s role is discussed through a questionnaire applied to eleven teacher educators of the State University of Maringá, used to investigate how these influences are characterized.
