De la monnaie gauloise à la monnaie romaine : l'exemple de la région du Nord — Pas-de-Calais.

From Gallic to Roman Coins : The Example of the Nord — Pas-de-Calais Region. Through the study of Gallic coins findings on the one hand, and of Roman ones dating from the Republic or the early Empire on the other, one can follow the passage from Gallic currency to Roman currency between the period of the conquest and the middle of the Ist century A.D., and make out five chronological phases. It appears that Gallic gold coins have been in circulation until the beginning of the ist century and bronze ones still later ; the slow penetration of the Roman coins from the Republic and the early Empire accounts for the persistance of Gallic coins in the monetary circulation as well as that of surrogate ones (cut or imitation coins).Roland Delmaire et collaborateurs, Chronique numismatique. A noter plus particulièrement un bronze gaulois uniface (Balinghem) et un autre à légende CAITIO-MANDV (Bonnières), un denier républicain serratus (Etrun) et un antoninien de Carausius (Merris).Het geld in Noord-Frankrijk, van de Galliers tot de Romeinen. Aan de hand van geldvondsten uit de gallische en romeinse période, zowel de republiek als het keizerrijk kan men de overgang van de muntcirculatie tussen de tijd van de verovering en het midden van de eerste eeuw na Chr. nagaan. Men onderscheidt vijf chronologische fazen. De gallische gouden munten werden tot in het begin van de eerste eeuw gebruikt, de bronzen zelfs later. De zwakke penetratie van het romeinse geld uit de republiek en het beginnende keizerrijk kan verklaard worden door de gehechtheid aan de gallische munten en het gebruik van gelegenheidsuitgiften (versneden geldstukken, imitaties).Delmaire Roland.
