The projected building of a large scale residential area was at the origin of the launching in 1979 of a program of preventive diggings, which have now brought evidence of the extension of the Famars vicus and the entanglement of its habitat. While as yet the road system was completely unknown, the discovery of a cobbled pathway allows a better understanding of the organisation and distribution of housing in this part of the antique urban centre. Two superimposed buidings were excavated along that pathway. The first one ran parallel to the pathway, though in a rather remote position, and was replaced in a later period by a much wider building, the latter foundations being laid at an old angle with the former.
