Des ruptures qui donnent sens au métier d'enseignant

Within the context of a national plan of action, some innovative teachers have been asked to write about their practice. These writings show the extent to which the involvement in innovative practices allows teachers to practise their profession in a different way. They take the time to listen to their pupils so as to understand their difficulties better but also to make them build their knowledge. They conceive of their profession in terms of a collective work and a shared educational responsibility. They pay great attention to the pupils' learning process and trust their ability to improve. It is indeed a break with the traditional conception of the teaching profession which is perceveid by teachers as an enriching and enjoyable experience. We can assume that the creative dynamic developed by innovative teachers enables them to create a more subjective approach of their profession and to take the pupils' reality more into account. The pupils will therefore be able to identify to an adult showing them a living culture and to change their perception of school and its demands.Dans le cadre d'un dispositif national, des enseignants innovants ont été invités à écrire sur leurs pratiques. Ces écrits expriment combien l'engagement dans des pratiques innovantes permet à l'enseignant d'exercer différemment son métier. Il prend le temps d'écouter l'élève pour mieux comprendre ses difficultés mais aussi afin que celui-ci construise son savoir. Il pense son métier en termes de travail collectif et de responsabilité éducative partagée. Il porte une grande attention à l'élève en train d'apprendre, et a confiance dans ses capacités de progrès. Il s'agit d'une rupture avec la conception traditionnelle du métier, rupture vécue par les enseignants comme un enrichissement, une source de plaisir. Nous faisons l'hypothèse que la dynamique créative développée par les enseignants novateurs leur permet d'élaborer un rapport plus subjectif à leur métier et de mieux prendre en compte la réalité de l'élève. Celui-ci pourra alors s'identifier à un adulte qui lui montre une culture vivante et changer sa perception de l'école et de ses exigences.Beriot Anne-Marie.
