Within the context of a national plan of action, some innovative teachers have been asked to write about their practice. These writings show the extent to which the involvement in innovative practices allows teachers to practise their profession in a different way. They take the time to listen to their pupils so as to understand their difficulties better but also to make them build their knowledge. They conceive of their profession in terms of a collective work and a shared educational responsibility. They pay great attention to the pupils' learning process and trust their ability to improve.
